Are you looking to lose weight and build muscle mass? Then you need to do some intense exercises that will increase your heart rate and melt fat.

They will also work your muscles, helping in developing them nice and lean. Burpees are not easy exercises, so there are people that are not too enthusiastic about them. But, they pay great results, so you should not skip them.

In fact, many people don’t do them because they are fun. They do them because the results are spectacular, especially if you dream about a fit body. Here are a few reasons to pick a burpees exercise.

  • Why add burpees to your workout plan?

While performing a burpee workout, your entire body works. This is why they are so efficient in weight loss. With one single workout, you will manage to do a lot.

If you do burpees quick and at high intensity, you will burn a staggering amount of calories. You can enjoy burpees anywhere and anytime. You can do them at home, at the gym, in the park, you name it.

There is no excuse why you should not do them. In time, your entire body will get stronger and look amazing. Every burpees rep will work a series of muscles at once, so you will soon have a higher endurance.

In fact, you don’t even need a treadmill if you opt for burpees. As you can see, they are a great addition to any workout plan. It doesn’t matter if you want to lose weight or build muscles.

A burpee workout is exactly what you need in both cases.

  • Alternatives to burpees

If you want something that will be similar to burpees, try the squat thrust. The squat thrust is actually the burpee without the jump in the end.

You still do the same movements, but without ending it with a high jump. Also, when you are doing squat thrusts, you don’t have to do the push-down.

That part is optional, but if you want to work more muscles, you should do it. You can even start with squat thrusts, and advance as soon as you get used to them.

When they start to seem too easy, throw in the push up. And if you need something more intense, add the high jump in the end and you have a burpee. Both exercises are more than amazing for obtaining a fit body.

  • With will and the right exercises, you will do it

For someone that never worked out before, both the burpees and squat thrusts may seem difficult. But, if you want to be proud of your body, you need to find the will to do it.

Start with a few sets in the beginning, until you get familiar with it. Then, gradually, increase the number of sets and intensity.

If you really want to burn fat, doing burpees at high intensity and speed will help you a lot. It is better to do short and intense exercise than run forever on the treadmill.
